First made available via as a Developer Preview on 2021-10-27, Android 12L was the first vendor update to include support for 2021’s Emoji 14.0 recommendations. Devices running Android 12 also began to receive this emoji update via subsequent security updates. 

A total of 107 new emojis were introduced in this update, including Melting Face, Heart Hands, and mixed skin tone support for 🤝 Handshake. More about this update.
